Let's face it -- if you have kids, you probably have an abundance of kid-related stuff, too. When you're looking to unload it, take it to Chloe's Closet. This consignment store will buy, sell, trade, and donate your gently used clothes, toys, and gear.

The business has two storefronts next to each other on Cortland Avenue. In one, you'll find clothes and shoes for newborns through about age six, maternity clothing, and seasonal items, such as Halloween costumes in the Fall. While most items are used, there's also a small selection of new pieces. A small play area with a few baby/toddler toys will entertain your kids while you shop. Note: the store door is usually open so be aware of the escape potential for your mobile little ones.

In the second storefront at 433 Cortland Ave., you'll find a wide range of both new and used toys, books, and videos for children ages newborn to about ten. New items include Melissa and Doug puzzles, blocks, art supplies and musical instruments; Thomas trains, tracks, and buildings; and more. Your kids will love it as they can play with most (used) things in here. Also in this store: gear, such as strollers, diaper bags, high chairs, new and used slings, etc. Both stores are staffed by warm, friendly, and helpful employees.

Consignment items are accepted five days a week on a drop-in basis. You'll get 40% check or 50% store credit for consigned items. Plus, they'll donate your non-consigned items so you don't have to lug them back home. For full details, please read their consignment policies.

Chloe's Closet is open seven days a week. It's located in family-centric Bernal Heights, a mere half a block from the Bernal Branch Public Library and the local playground. Parking is fairly easy in Bernal (easiest on weekdays), with meters right in front of the store and 2-hour curb parking on nearby neighborhood streets.
